Your tasks

  • Team Collaboration with Autonomy: While part of a team, the role requires significant independence and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Ownership of the Customs Department: Responsible for overseeing the customs department from a human resources perspective, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
  • Resilience in Overcoming Department Challenges: Demonstrates strong resilience when faced with challenges within the department, maintaining focus and problem-solving skills to drive continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely input of information into the payroll system
  • Collate and process information for the monthly payroll
  • Deal with queries from internal and external stakeholders including employees and the HMRC
  • Prepare and run payroll reports
  • Provide generalist HR advice under guidance of the Regional HR Manager UK & IRE
  • Ensure all paperwork for new employees is issued accurately and promptly and represents a positive employer brand for Dachser
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all personnel and training records ensuring they are secure and compliant with the Data Protection Regulations
  • Collate and provide HR KPI information to the UKI HR Manager
  • Build strong relationships across the business to share best practice and provide mutual support and functional expertise
  • Administrative support to the Regional HR Manager UK & IRE in the development of strategies for the business to manage key legislative changes
  • Management and analysis of training records
  • Assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of training and development for all staff levels
  • Carry out in-house training as appropriate meeting development needs in a cost-effective manner
  • Promote and develop training which assists individuals to meet organisational and personal objectives
  • Enhance the culture of the organisation to understand the value in appraising their staff
  • Provide support to the management team in resolving and managing all aspects of day to day employee relations including: disciplinaries, grievances, mental health and absence management
  • Support the Regional HR Manager UKI in the development, continuous improvement and implementation of HR policies and practices to support and deliver the HR strategy aligned with the business strategy

Your qualifications

  • Minimum level three CIPD or demonstratable experience
  • Resilience
  • Innovative approach
  • Happy to largely be a lone worker, but also part of a team.
  • Proven employee relations expertise including experience of conflict resolution, grievance, and disciplinary resolution.
  • Influence and impact people across all levels in the Organisation.
  • Effective communicator with individuals in all functions within the business
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law
